About Café 1900

As someone who loves introducing great local spots, Café 1900 Restaurant is one of those places in Maastricht that instantly feels easy to recommend. Located at Orleansplein 14B in the 6217 LA area, Café 1900 sits comfortably in a lively neighborhood while still offering a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that works for almost any plan. Whether you are stopping by for a casual coffee, meeting friends for drinks, or settling in for a laid-back meal, the space feels approachable and unpretentious, which makes it appealing to both locals and visitors. The restaurant vibe is social without being loud, and the setting naturally invites you to linger a little longer than planned. At the same time, the restaurant keeps things practical with service options like takeaway, dine-in, and delivery, so it easily adapts to busy schedules or relaxed evenings. The menu focuses on variety rather than overcomplication, offering everything from quick bites and small plates to late-night food when hunger hits after hours. Drinks play a big role in the overall experience as well, with a solid selection that includes coffee, beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits, which makes the restaurant just as suitable for an afternoon break as it is for a casual night out. It is also a spot that works well for spontaneous visits, whether you drop in for a single drink or decide to share a few plates with friends. The balance between food and drinks, combined with a casual service style, creates a space that feels modern yet familiar. Good quality food with a no-nonsense approach, served at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The cafe is located at a small square in a neighbourhood just outside of the city centre. In short: 5/5 would recommend it to anybody.

Ic, Fic and Madge found this café on our scouting mission. As summer was trying to "Break on through to the other side" ( The Doors.) We sat outside on the front terrace. Most people enjoying the food but we stuck to Brand beer, the local Limburger beer. 5.70 a pint here. Lots of Swifts out on this summer evening. Lovely spot to sit and watch the world go by. Very peaceful. Lovely interior to this bar.
